About Vorthix XOR-1

What is Vorthix XOR-1?

Vorthix XOR-1 is the AI-driven cyber reasoning engine built by Vorthix Sec. It analyzes source code and compiled binaries the way a security researcher would: it forms hypotheses about how software can be attacked, tests them in an isolated environment, and reports a finding only when the evidence supports it. The Vorthix research team reviews findings before they are delivered.

How is Vorthix different from a traditional SAST scanner?

Traditional SAST tools rely on pattern matching and signature databases. Vorthix XOR-1 reasons through code like a security researcher and understands context, which lets it find incomplete fixes and novel vulnerability patterns that scanners often miss. It also tests its own hypotheses, so engineers receive findings with evidence instead of a list of warnings to investigate.

What does cyber reasoning mean?

Cyber reasoning means using AI to reason about how software can be attacked, rather than only matching it against known bug patterns. A cyber reasoning system forms a hypothesis, plans a test, reads the result and revises its approach, repeating until it can support a conclusion or reports that it cannot. Vorthix XOR-1 is built around that loop.

What languages does Vorthix support?

Vorthix XOR-1 analyzes source code and compiled binaries in C, C++, Rust, Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Ruby, PHP, Swift, Assembly, and Solidity. Because it can also reason about compiled code and not only syntax, it can examine software when source is not available.

Does Vorthix replace penetration testers or a bug bounty program?

No. These approaches complement each other. Scanners are fast and cheap on known patterns, and human experts bring judgment, business context and creative attacks. Vorthix XOR-1 adds continuous, hypothesis-driven analysis that produces reproducible evidence, so human time goes to review and fixing instead of re-checking whether a finding is real.

Method and evidence

What does evidence-gated mean?

Evidence-gated means a conclusion is accepted only when specific, retrievable evidence from the code supports it, and each piece of evidence must prove the claim it is attached to. Confident wording alone cannot close a finding. When the evidence is not there, the honest result is "insufficient evidence", not a guess in either direction.

Can Vorthix XOR-1 say it does not know?

Yes, and that is a deliberate design decision. "Insufficient evidence" is a first-class outcome. Vorthix XOR-1 is allowed to end an investigation without declaring a finding safe or vulnerable, because an honest unknown is worth more to a security team than a confident guess that quietly buries a real issue.

What does "proof-based security research" mean?

Proof-based security research means a vulnerability is reported only with evidence that supports it, such as AddressSanitizer logs, exploit traces or a demonstrated proof of exploitability. Each finding comes with a working proof of concept that Vorthix XOR-1 wrote and confirmed dynamically, and the Vorthix research team verifies it before delivery.

What does an engineering team receive for each finding?

A working proof of concept, a minimized reproducer, the runtime trace, the root-cause path, a suggested patch and a regression test that fails before the fix and passes after it.

What does attacker-reachable mean?

A vulnerability is attacker-reachable when untrusted input from outside the system can actually reach the flawed code. Vorthix XOR-1 maps entry points and confirms reachability, including across a network connection for remote bugs, so engineers spend time on issues that can really be used.

Can Vorthix find incomplete fixes to known CVEs?

Yes. Vorthix treats a patch as a claim and tests whether it holds on every path. It maps the assumption a fix relies on across the codebase and reports where that assumption breaks, which depends on reasoning-based analysis rather than pattern matching.

Privacy and trust

Is my source code kept private?

Yes. Every analysis runs in an isolated, ephemeral sandbox on Vorthix infrastructure, and the environment is destroyed when the task ends. Your source code and findings are never shared with third-party AI providers or used to train third-party models.

Does a human review what Vorthix XOR-1 finds?

Yes. Vorthix XOR-1 works through an engagement without step-by-step human guidance, and the Vorthix research team then verifies each finding and its evidence before it is delivered or disclosed.

How does Vorthix handle responsible disclosure?

Vulnerabilities in third-party open-source software are reported to the maintainers first and disclosed in coordination with them. Public write-ups follow coordinated release, and anything from a client engagement stays private to that client.

Working with Vorthix

Which industries does Vorthix serve?

Teams that ship complex, high-assurance software: defense and aerospace, infrastructure and platform vendors, automotive and industrial, and financial systems. Each has its own page under Industries.

How do I get access?

Access is currently by request for security teams and researchers. Contact the team with a short description of your software and what you want to learn, and Vorthix will agree the scope with you before any work starts.
